Ian E. Charleton

Arranger and Co-Founder 

 
Ian Charleton is a native of College Station, Texas. He attended the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas where he earned a BM (cum laude) in Jazz Studies (Performance) in 1999, and an MM in Jazz Studies (Arranging) in 2001. 

In May 2001, he joined the U.S. Navy as a saxophone and clarinet instrumentalist and has since performed and arranged for the U.S. Navy on five continents while stationed in Naples, Italy and Norfolk, Virginia. He currently teaches jazz harmony and arranging at the U.S. Navy School of Music onboard Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek/Fort Story in Virginia Beach, Virginia. 

In addition to his music, he loves to cook, read and travel (sometimes all at once). He is also a student of military history and an avid distance cyclist. He can be contacted at ian@2hiparrangers.com
